Firewood
Wood is a multifunctional material that is used, among other things, for space heating and cooking various types of food. Thanks to the types of species, you can choose a tree with maximum heat transfer, light aroma of a particular shade, useful volatile compounds that are released into the air during combustion.
Freshly cut wood has a humidity of 30-80%, and if it was delivered in an alloy way, then higher. The calorific value of raw firewood is lower, but they also have their advantages. The optimum humidity for heating is 15-20%, which we try to adhere to in our warehouses. The best for heat production are hardwoods: oak, hornbeam, acacia, elm (birch). Softly deciduous – birch, alder, aspen, poplar – have lower heat transfer, but heat up very quickly, give little coal, are cheaper and are often used for furnaces. Each breed has its own characteristics, making it better suited for certain purposes. For example, alder and aspen leave the least soot and even help clean the chimney.
